Supporting our community, and a more sustainable future

Corporate social responsibility at The Penny Group

We believe great financial planning should create positive outcomes not just for our clients, but for society as a whole. Our Corporate Social Responsibility programme reflects our commitment to giving back, acting ethically, supporting local communities, and operating as a responsible UK financial services firm. From charitable partnerships and fundraising initiatives to environmental awareness and staff volunteering, we aim to make a meaningful and lasting difference through the way we work and the causes we support.

The Openwork Foundation

The Openwork Foundation aims to make a difference where it matters most, working to support vulnerable children and adults in the UK and overseas. It delivers grant, fundraising and volunteer programmes that engage businesses, advisers and colleagues across the Openwork Partnership to support local communities.

We have been proud supporters of The Openwork Foundation since we were founded in 2010, and in 2025 we were awarded the Foundation Hero Award at the Openwork Partnership Annual Conference. We support across a range of initiatives, including regular monthly giving, individual fundraising initiatives, corporate charity days and events, and strategic partnerships with charities culminating in proposals for Openwork grants.

In 2024 one of our founding Partners Adam Roberts was invited to join the Openwork Foundation’s Board of Trustees, a role that he continues in to this day.

You Make It

You Make It is an award-winning reparative justice organisation empowering women from racialised communities to thrive in inner city London.

We began partnering with You Make It in 2025, and have run structured work experience programmes, a series of financial wellbeing workshops and successfully proposed a £15,000 grant application to The Openwork Foundation.

We are delighted to be continuing this partnership into 2026 with further workshops planned, both for those participating in You Make It’s programmes as well as the charity’s staff.
